Where is the workshop?
The workshop is in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The business is still called Kelham Island Furniture — that's where it started — but everything is now made in Chesterfield. Visits are welcome by appointment; call or email and David will send you the address.
What do you make?
Bespoke alcove cabinets, fitted wardrobes, fitted bookcases, kitchens and a range of other fitted and freestanding furniture. Everything is designed with you and built by hand in the workshop.
Do you make kitchens?
Yes. Full bespoke kitchens, individual cabinetry such as islands, pantries and larders, and replacement doors to reface an existing kitchen.
Do you offer a design service?
Yes. David will visit your home for a free design consultation to measure the space and talk through what you'd like. A CAD design service is available to visualise the piece before it's built.
What paint finishes do you offer?
Any colour from Farrow & Ball or Little Greene, professionally sprayed in the workshop. Pieces can also be supplied unpainted if you'd prefer to have them finished by your own decorator.
Where do you install?
In and around Chesterfield, Sheffield and the wider Derbyshire and South Yorkshire area. For projects further afield, please get in touch.
